Designing for the Next Thirty Years of the Web - Inrupt at SXSW
The web will soon be turning 30, and we’ll be warming up by looking to the future during Inrupt’s panel at South by Southwest.

In less than a month, the web will turn 30 years old — a surprisingly youthful birthday for something we can’t imagine living without.
Here at Inrupt, we’ll be celebrating alongside our CTO, Tim Berners-Lee and many others as we look back at one of the most significant inventions of the past century. But Tim and our team are also focused on ensuring the next 30 years are filled with even more potential.
With that in mind, we’ll be warming up for the birthday bash by looking to the future during Inrupt’s panel at South by Southwest, the tech and culture conference in Austin, Texas.
There our CEO John Bruce will lay out the vision we’re working hard to create, for a web that’s controlled by its users and full of opportunity for developers, businesses and all of us.
The web needs a “mid-course correction” to bring it back in line with what Tim originally envisioned for his invention. With Solid and its community of developers, Inrupt is laying the foundation of that new ecosystem.
But how do we get from here to there? It all starts with curious, creative and motivated designers and developers who want to join the movement and build the first wave of decentralized apps - for the next wave of the web. The kinds of apps that take advantage of the power of Solid and a world where users control how their data works for them. Delivering new kinds of value and experiences that today’s web infrastructure can’t possibly achieve. It starts now.
We hope you’ll join us to learn more in our “Designing For the Next 30 Years of the Web” panel in the Design Track at SXSW at 12.30pm on Sunday March 10, just ahead of the web’s big birthday - for more details and to register, go to https://schedule.sxsw.com/2019/events/PP93227.
